Ingredients:
- 1 yellow cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 oil
- 1/4 brown sugar
- 1/4 milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350. Grease a baking dish.
- In a medium-sized bowl combine cake mix, eggs, oil, brown sugar, and milk, until just combined. It is ok if there are some small lumps. Do not overmix.
- Mix in the chocolate chips, stirring only until the chips are combined with the batter.
- Pour the batter into the baking dish, and bake at 350. Cooking time will depend on the size of dish you use. A bigger dish like a 9x13 means shorter bars and shorter cooking time (about 20 minutes). A smaller dish like an 9x9 means taller bars and a longer cooking time (about 35 minutes). When the bars are done, the top will be beginning to brown and if you put a fork (or toothpick) into the center and it comes out clean. With a little practice you will be very comfortable knowing when they are done.
Note: Sabrina likes to eat these a little underdone. If you want to do that then the top will be a little gooier and softer, but they will go bad if you don't eat them very soon. If you make sure that they are cooked all the way through then you can keep them for 3 or 4 days. Let them cool and then cover them tightly with plastic wrap. If they are exposed to too much air they will get stale faster.
